If Jesus was the Leader of a Political Party…

If Jesus was the Leader of a political party he would act in accordance to his teachings. He would love, give and forgive. He would be honest, peaceful and fair. He would not judge individuals, but instead put their actions on trial.

If Jesus was the Leader of a political party, he would judge the strength of the economy by how many were fed, sheltered and employed–not by the profits of corporations or by the volume of material possessions sold. His speeches would remind us that “he who dies with the most toys”–lived the life of a spoiled child.

If Jesus was the Leader of a political party, in times of economic woes he would ask the rich to assist the poor that worked so hard to make them wealthy. Only a tyrant would ask the poor to suffer through hard times while the rich continued to enjoy tax breaks

If Jesus was the Leader of a political party he would uphold the commandments and lead honest debate. He would prove his views and be a living example. He would not rule by power, aggression, fear or deceit, as so many politicians do.

If Jesus was the Leader of a political party he would preach that using the earth to survive is just, while raping the earth with unsatiable greed is forbidden by the tenth commandment–the one about coveting.

If Jesus was the Leader of a political party, his views would be the polar opposite of any neo-conservative platform or Leader.

If Jesus was the Leader of a political party, he would be unlike any politician. He would have my vote.

  1. Nor would he be similar to any neo-socialists. Seems to me His iron sceptre reign isn’t going to tolerate the global BS we’re swimming in from any political faction.

    Love your points. Good observations.

If Jesus were a Political Leader he would assume a male voice for nourishing the needs of The Mother, hence exhibiting a transformed Patriarchal figure that is true to and manifests the underlying Matriarchy, that is the real bottom-line for decision -making: What does Mother Erath need, and what do we, her children, need to do to ensure hers, and thus own prosperity into the future?

If Jesus If Jesus were a Political Leader he’d apply the an ethic of ecological responsibility with care and devotion to all relations, to ensure the flourishing of future generations.

  3. If Jesus was the leader of a political party I hope that he would respect the separation of church and state – a fundamental principle of a healthy democracy!

Jesus was a law giver–not a law enforcer.

`If Jesus were a politician he would not be advocating paying less taxes. He said “render unto Ceasar that which belongs to Ceasar” indicating that the state does have a need to collect taxes. The question is for what purpose does the state collect those taxes? So those who call themselves Christians ought to willingly pay their taxes in order that we can look after the poor, feed the hungry and live in peace. We do however have an obligation to ensure that those taxes are spent to for the common good not to finance corporate welfare or war but to finance social justice for the common good.
`The great law given “To love your neighbour as yourself” is the context within which paying our taxes for the common good ought to be interpreted.
`I too would vote for Jesus if he were a politician but then again he would lose every time precisely because he put the good for others before himself. He showed us a better way to live and paid the price.

Hi Patrick. I agree that “Christians ought to willingly pay their taxes in order that we can look after the poor, feed the hungry and live in peace.” But Jesus would not tax those that could not afford it.

For a quote, I was think ing more alone the lines of, “Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to squeeze through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into the kingdom of God.” (Mathew 19:24)

  7. Did you write that? It’s good!

If Jesus was leader of a political party… d’ya think he’d bail out the Big Three?

    d’oh!

And… why would a camel want to squeeze through the eye of a needle anyway?

  8. How dare you take the name of the Lord thy GOD in vain!!! To make a political point you willingly blaspheme ! May you all burn in your socialist hell !

AnonNyMous, what have I written about Jesus and his teachings that you can prove wrong?

  10. GreenSolidarity

    AnonNyMous,

Clearly you have no conception about Jesus or his teachings. Jesus is about LOVE, not wrath, about Human Salvation, not wishing people to burn in hell.
